We had our friends the Rices over for dinner tonight to celebrate Christmas. We had a WONDERFUL time. The kids had a total blast running around the house playing and dressing up. Brieanne made a roast with delicious gravy and Craig and I made baked potatoes, green beans, salad, and an apple crisp. YUM!! Everything was perfect! Before we ate, we lit our fourth Advent candle and read our verse and sang "Silent Night." After dinner, we used our new nativity set to tell the Christmas story. We read from Helaman 14 from the Book of Mormon when Samuel prophesied of Christ's birth and then we read in Luke 2 and Matthew 2 telling of His birth, the angels, the shepherds and the wise men. We sang lots of songs to go with the different parts. We had a wonderful night! What a blessing my friend Brieanne is to me!!

"In my ninety-plus years, I have learned a secret. I have learned that when good men and good women face challenges with optimism, things will always work out! Truly, things always work out!" ~ President Gordon B. Hinckley
Promise yourself to be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. Look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true. Think only of the best, work only for the best, and expect only the best. Forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future. Give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others. Live on the faith that the whole world is on your side so long as you are true to the best that is in you!--Christian D. Larson
